The lack of maintenance of the property made it a haven for squatters and the home was the target of repeated break-ins. With very low marketable value, it was a challenge to find the most economical path to correcting the state and municipal health and safety code violations on-site.
The lack of oversight of the property made it an attractive nuisance to transients who repeatedly broke in.
Post-receivership the property provides housing for a local family.

Ultimately, CRG found that the best long-term option for the upkeep of this property into the future would be to sell it to a buyer with experience successfully remodeling properties in accordance with state and local building and safety codes. The original owner of this property agreed, and we were able to find a mutually beneficial solution that pleased both the original property owner and ensured that the dangerous conditions at the property were rectified. We were able to secure a sale of the property to a buyer with the ability to commit to abating the hazards on-site within a set period of time. Our supervision remained in place until the new buyer completed the remediation work and the municipality signed off on the removal of all code violations.
